Chandigarh, October 11, 2015: Punjab Government has decided to take action against vehicle dealers selling non-transport vehicles on temporary registration certificate.
Disclosing this here today State Transport Commissioner Mr.Harmail Singh said that Transport Department has taken a serious notice in this regard that some Motor Dealer were selling vehicles with Trade Certificate Number instead of issuing Provisional R.C. which is illegal.
He further said that State Transport Department has issued orders in December, 2014 that at the time of selling Non-Transport Vehicles, Dealers should be issued Provisional R.C. of permanent Number instead of Temporary Registration Number which have to be allotted online to concerned motor vehicle but some dealers are selling vehicles with Trade Certificate Number instead of Provisional R.C. of permanent Number which is violation of Punjab Government rules and resulting heavy financial loss to the government.
He appealed to the public that they must have required documents with them at the time of purchasing vehicle and make due payment of motor vehicle tax and government fees so that concerned motor vehicle dealer could be issued provisional R.C. of permanent registration number on the spot.
He also appealed to the people that if any dealer selling vehicles with Trade Certificate Number instead of issuing Provisional R.C., inform the concerned D.T.O or Head Office so that strict action could be initiated against such motor vehicle dealer.
