Punjab spent Rs. 70 Crore to setup 12 highly modern Cattle Fair Grounds

Chandigarh, May 10, 2016: In a bid to provide modern facilities to the farmers and cattle traders, the Punjab government has spent Rs.70 Crore for the setting up of 12 highly modern Cattle Fair Grounds through its Rural Development and Panchayat Department.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the state government said the these fully modern Cattle Fair grounds were developed at Vallah in Amritsar district at a cost of Rs. 441.41 Lakh, at Nabipur in Sri Fatehgarh Sahib at a cost of Rs. 756 Lakh, at Killianwali in Sri Muktsar Sahib (Rs. 759 Lakh), at Sabhanpur in Kapurthala (Rs. 295 Lakh), at Jagraon in Ludhiana (Rs. 782 Lakh), at Nabha in Patiala (Rs. 374.47 Lakh), at Dhanola in Barnala (Rs. 790.73 Lakh), at Daun Majra in Mohali (Rs. 626 Lakh), Charik in Moga (Rs. 196.49 Lakh), at Mour in Bathinda (Rs. 673.97 Lakh), at Batala in Gurdaspur (Rs. 544.76 Lakh) and at Rampura in Bathinda district (Rs. 77.63 Lakh).
The spokesperson further said that during any fair all cattle were being treated with medicated solution to clean their hoofs and given shower automatically at the entry points. In all these modern cattle fair grounds the facilities like cemented feeding area, bathing shower tubs, platforms for loading and unloading of cattle, secure area through a surrounded boundary wall, sheds, proper entry and exit gates, quarter for Chowkidars, canteen, washrooms for farmers & cattle traders and presence of a veterinary doctors were made available to run the fair in a smooth and hassle free manner.
