Punjab seeks report on implementation of Disability Act from departments

Chandigarh, June 27, 2014: The Punjab Government has issued directions to all departments to immediately implement the provisions of accessibility to public buildings under PWD ACT, 1995 for facilitating the accessibility of disabled persons to all places. The department has also sought information from all departments regarding the compliance for implementing this act.

In a separate communiqué, the department has also sought latest position of vacant posts of 3 per cent posts reserved for disabled persons, so these posts would be filled at the earliest.
