Punjab police’s shooters shine

Chandigarh, October 24, 2013: Shooters of Punjab Police Harveen Saraon and Avneet Sidhu won laurels for the state as the former bagged bronze medal in the Asian Championship whereas the latter won Gold Medal in the All India Police Games.

Similarly Manavjeet Singh Sandhu has won Silver Medal in the Asian Championship.

Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister and Bikram Singh Majithia, Information and Public Relations Minister, Punjab have felicitated the shooter for their grand achievement. In a joint statement issued here today they said that Punjab stood tall in the sporting arena as the Punjab Government has been remarkable work for promoting sports in the state. They said that in the shooting field no state could match Punjab. “In the recent past the Punjab government has recruited both Harveen Saron and Avneet Sidhu as DSP in the Police Department,” they said.

DSP Harveen Saraon has won Bronze Medal in the 10 meter air pistol event of Asian Championship being held at Iran whereas DSP Avneet Sidhu bagged Gold Medal in the 10 meter air rifle event of All India Police Games being held at Pune. www.cityairnews.com
