Chandigarh, October 26, 2016: The Punjab Police today declared the results of the Recruitment of Constables – 2016 in District Police Cadre (Male & Female) and Armed Police Cadre (Male) and selected candidates include the names of 7173 successful candidates. These results have been uploaded on the official website of Punjab Police i.e, www.punjabpolice.gov.in.
Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Punjab police said that these candidate friendly recruitment processes set the new precedents in transparency & fairness and the addition of 7173 constables to the State Police Force was going to give a fillip to the resolve of the Punjab Police to conduct the Assembly Elections 2017 in a free, fair and transparent manner.
The spokesman further informed that the successful candidates were being informed via SMS and email on their respective mobile numbers and email IDs also. The Advertisement # 1 dated 31.05.16 regarding this Recruitment had earlier been published on 31st May, 2016.
He informed that 7173 candidates have been provisionally selected through this recruitment process. Out of these 7173 candidates, there are 3556 male candidates in District Police Cadre, 1116 female candidates in District Police Cadre and 2501 male candidates in Armed Police Cadre.
The spokesman pointed out that about 85% of the Candidates selected are in the age group of 19-26 years of age. This percentage in Armed Police Cadre (Male) is 80%, District Police Cadre (Male) is 83% and in District Police Cadre (Female) is 97%. Besides this, 162 candidates are Post Graduate, 1181 candidates are Graduate, 261 are Diploma Holders, 153 are B.Tech., and 6 are M.Tech. , he added.
The Online Application Forms had been filled up by the candidates on the recruitment website www.punjabpolicerecruitment.in and the relevant documents were uploaded alongwith their Application forms, on the same website, he added.
The spokesman said that the selected candidates will have to be report from 27th October onwards to the Districts allocated to them (in case of District Police Cadre) and different Battalion Headquarters (in case of Armed Police Cadre) for a preliminary scrutiny of the certificates, Mark-Sheets and other documents. Thereafter, their Medical Examination will be got conducted and the Character and antecedent checks will also be carried out. Those candidates who clear these verification processes will be joined in the Police Department provisionally as constables, subject to the verification of their Educational Qualification certificates/documents and other supporting documents from the concerned authorities. “Their Training Course is expected to begin from 15th November, 2016 onwards at different Training Centres”, he added.
