Punjab Pensioners Associations to protest

Ferozepur, September 10, 2012:  The Punjab Government Pensioners Association, Ferozepur in its meeting, held under the presidentship of O.P.Gaba decided to register their protest on September 11, for their long pending demands jointly by various Retired Penionsers Associations.

The demands included, revising of pension with effect from January 1, 2006, merging of 50 per cent dearness allowance by enhancing it as a part of pension as per recommendations of the Pay Commission, fixed medical allowance of Rs.1000 per month, free electricity to retired PSEB employees, release of balance of traveling allowance, appointment of doctors and other sanctioned posts of staff for providing of better health services  besides condemning of levying of heavy taxes by the Punjab Government.

Later, speaking to the mediaperons, the present pensioners in the meeting warned the government that in case their demands are not discussed and final orders are not issued, by calling the leaders of the pensioner’s joint front, they will be compelled to intensify their agitation.
