Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday along with top bureaucrats visits Indian School of Business venue for Progressive Punjab Investors Summit at Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, December 5, 2013: The Punjab would soon get a state level round the clock helpline to redress complaints related to power as the Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today gave his nod in this regard besides asking chief secretary to setup helpline within a period of few months.
Badal along with top bureaucrats visited Indian School of Business venue for Progressive Punjab Investors Summit. While reviewing the status of ongoing arrangements for Progressive Punjab Investors Summit at Indian School of Business, Mohali on December 9 and 10, Badal said that the rate of complaints related to POWERCOM after police department were highest and it was call of the hour to setup a mechanism in this regard with fixing accountability of concerned officials. He informed that power consumers would come with a 181 pattern helpline in the state to resolve their electricity complaints on priority.
The Deputy CM directed secretary power to personally have all the requisite information besides results of 181 so the same system could be launched for POWERCOM. Badal also said that for setting up new business or industrial ventures, approvals and clearances related to power sector would be provided online on the same day on receiving applications. Adding further he asked that power connections to entrepreneurs would also be provided within the stipulated time frame and directed secretary power to ensure the same in true spirit.
Badal also informed that Secretary Power Anirudh Tiwari has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer Bureau by state government. He said CEO would be able to grant all industry related clearances and approvals of all departments. He said that CEO would also ensure the clearances and approvals in a single day.
Badal also asked financial commissioner revenue to initiate the process to interconnect all the Fard Kendras with Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion (PBIP) in the state so that clearances for establishing news industrial units could be provided timely.
