Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) on Thursday celebrate 125th anniversary of first Prime Minsiter of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru at Chandigarh.
Chandigarh, November 14, 2013: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) today celebrated 125th anniversary of first Prime Minsiter of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru.
Partap Singh Bajwa President PPCC and other leaders garlanded the portrait of Pt. Nehru in the Congress Bhwawan here. Mr. Bajwa on this occasion distributed books and sweets to the school children and remembered the special love of Pt. Nehru for the children. He said that birth day of Pt. Nehru was celebrated as Children Day to pay tribute to the first Prime Minister of India.
Bajwa said that Pt. Nehru had laid the foundation of secular India and he is the architect of modern India. He said that Bhakra Dam was the biggest gift of Pt. Nehru to India especially to Punjab which emerged leader of green revolution in India. He said that first Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Partap Singh Kairon had special regard in the mind of Pt. Nehru who gave many projects to Punjab including Agricultue University at Ludhiana.
Ravneet Singh Bittu M.P. Anandpur Sahib, Shamsher Singh Dullo Former President PPCC, Tarlochan Singh Vice President PPCC, Rajpal Singh Ex-General Secretary PPCC and Gurinder Pal Singh Billa, Chairman OBC Department were among others who paid tributes to Pt. Nehru.
