Mohali, December 10, 2013: The Mohali campus of the Indian School of Business (ISB) was the natural choice for the Punjab Government to host its flagship event promoting the state as an attractive investment destination. Spread over a 70-acre sprawling facility, the campus boasts of a state of the art infrastructure, facilities and technology. Several business leaders referred to the prestigious institution during their formal and informal interactions. In his keynote address, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director, Reliance Industries, said, “I had heard a lot about ISB but am truly impressed to be here in this world class institution.”
The Mohali campus of the ISB is a successful example of the new phase of growth in the state of Punjab.  It was established with the support of the Government of Punjab and four founding board members of the ISB hailing from the state – Analjit Singh, Atul Punj, Rakesh Bharti Mittal and Sunil Kant Munjal. In addition to imparting world class management education the ISB also focuses on bringing its knowledge and expertise to benefit society. It endeavours to establish collaborative linkages between government, industry and academia to generate enormous synergies and benefit all stakeholders in the region. In the one year since the Mohali campus was inaugurated, the ISB has been working with the local industry and government to devise solutions on topics such as enhancing the entrepreneurial and manufacturing ecosystem in the state, a study of the impact of trade unions on the manufacturing cycle in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, among others.
Speaking about the ISB’s role in becoming an active contributor of growth in the region, Ajit Rangnekar, Dean, ISB said, “Academic institutions can play the role of a catalyst in driving growth in the region and beyond. This is amply demonstrated by the development around our Hyderabad campus in the last 12 years of our existence there. We believe that our Mohali campus too will play the role of a catalyst of growth in this region.”/ punjab news live, punjab news online, punjab news, punjab news headlines, punjab breaking news, india news, punjab news
