Punjab News/Annual plan 2014-15 to be based on development and welfare schemes

Chandigarh, November 15, 2013: The Annual Plan for the year 2014-15 would be centered on the development and welfare schemes. Sizeable amount of budget would be earmarked in the Plan for executing welfare and development activities in the state. This was disclosed by Prof. Rajinder Bhandari, Vice Chairperson of the Punjab State Planning Board.

Bhandari presided over the meetings held with various departments to chalk out the framework of the Annual Plan for the year 2014-15. He directed the officers of the different departments to give priority to the development and welfare schemes in their planning part. Bhandari held discussion with the senior officers of 21 departments in various meeting conducted from 13 to 15 November.

It is pertinent to mention here that a blue print of the Annual Plan 2014-15 is to be submitted to the Planning Commission of India by December 31, 2013. In these meetings held with the departments seniors officers of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fishery, Forest, Local Bodies, Water Supply and Sanitation, Rural Development and Panchayats, Industry and Commerce, School Education, Sports, Social Security, Women and Child Development, Irrigation, Health and Family Welfare, PWD etc. took  part in the deliberations.
