Punjab News- Forest Department’s class IV to get uniform

Chandigarh, September 17, 2013: The Punjab government has decided to provide uniforms to the Class IV staff of the forest department.

Disclosing this here today, Surjit Kumar Jayani, Forest Minister, Punjab said that this decision has been taken to inculcate a sense of dedication towards work and to bring about efficiency among the Class IV staff of the forest department. Jayani made this announcement while presiding over a meeting with the delegation of the forest workers union Punjab.

He said that the department would also extend all the other basic facility to the workers like the provision of EPF and ESI. He further said that strict instructions have been issued to the officer to implement all the decision of the government, failing which strict departmental action would be taken against the erring. He said that the department would also give jobs to the dependants of the deceased class IV employees on compassionate grounds.

Jayani added that the daily wage employees, whose service has been regularised as Beldars, could avail the benefit of pension and their service period before 2006 would also be counted for it. He said that those daily wage workers who has failed to apply to get their jobs regularised, has been given another chance to apply. He said that all these left over workers could apply within week so that their claims for regularisation of jobs could be considered.
