Punjab News- ECI issues detailed schedule for special summary revision

Chandigarh, September 6, 2013: The Election Commission of India has issued detailed schedule for special summary revision of electoral rolls on the basis of 01.01.2014 in the state of Punjab to register eligible voters and filing of objections.

A spokesman of the Punjab Government today said that Primary publication of Voter Lists has been made on 6-9-2013, whereas the claims and objection have been demanded from 6-9-2013 to 4-10-2013. Besides that BLOs would also take claims and objections at their concerned Polling station on 15—09-2013, 22-09-2013 and 29-09-2013.

He further said that those citizens who would attain the age of 18 or above on or before 01-01-2014 would be eligible to apply to register themselves as voter with the Electoral Registration Officer in the form No 6. NRIs would have to fill the form No 6A to get registered themselves as voters besides filling form No 7 for any objection and form no 8 for amendment.

The spokesman further said that for Photo Identity Card,   the eligible candidates appealed to deposit form No 6 along with the Passport size Photograph with the Electoral Registration Officer. For any information or inquiry people has been asked to contact their District Electoral Officer, Electoral Registration Officer, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer, Election Tehsildar or BLO, he added.
