Punjab News- e-District Punjab listed in India’s best 2013 projects for improvement in public service delivery

Chandigarh, September 11, 2013: e-District Punjab Project has been awarded  Skoch Order of Merit Medal for being selected in  India’s Best 2013 Projects.

Disclosing this here today, a spokesman of the Punjab government said that the award has been given for impact of eDistrict project on improvement of citizen service delivery. The Special secretary and Director, Department of Governance Reforms, V.N. Zade and Tanu Kashyap, Deputy Commissioner SBS Nagar alongwith representatives from State e-Governance Mission Team (SeMT) received  the award at  New Delhi recently. It is mentioning here that Skoch Awards recognise individuals, highlight projects and focus institutions that go the extra mile to make India a better nation. Skoch Awards have become the independent benchmark of best practices in India in the fields of governance, finance, banking, technology, corporate citizenship, economics and inclusive growth since 2003.

He further said that the award has been given to eDistrict Punjab project for improvement in Public Service Delivery in 2 districts of Kapurthala and SBS Nagar. e-District Project has been envisioned to ensure a faster, simplified, cost effective, timely, convenient and over the counter delivery of services.
