Chandigarh, September 22, 2014: A delegation of Punjab Motor Union under the leadership of Avtar Henry today met Transport Minister Ajit Singh Kohar and submitted a memorandum of demands. Delegation demanded the relaxation in Motor Vehicle Tax, exemption in diesel VAT, 50 percent deduction in Bus Stand (Adda) fees with their other demands.
The Minister said that SAD-BJP Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was committed to protect the interests of all the sections of the society. The Minister thanked the private bus operators of the union and assured them that their demands would be resolved on priority basis.
Besides the members of the delegation, Anurag Agarwal, Secretary Transport; Ashwani Kumar Sharma, State Transport Commissioner; Bhupinder Singh, Director Transport and other officers of the department were present in the meeting.
