Ferozepur, July 3, 2013: An incident of trying to capture booth of Basti Krishan Singh Wali falling in Mallawala near Ferozepur has come to notice.
The Presiding Team members, Labh Singh, PO, Harpreet Singh, PO, Sarbjit Singh and Santokh Singh, Polling Officers, while under treatment at the civil hospital said, “They were put on duty at booth No.2 and the election process was peaceful up to 3 PM. At about 3.30 PM while they were busy in their work, about four-five persons, who were Akali supports entered the polling booth and carrying a utensil and a bottle hidden on the back of the body. They thought that they have come to serve them tea but suddenly attacked and poured the acid in the ballot box and the acid in the utensil was thrown on whole of the team members with the result their clothes and some parts of the body were also burned. After the incident, all fled away from the scene”.
