Ludhiana, May 12, 2017: Punjab Cabinet Minister for Local Government, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Navjot Singh Sidhu on Friday visited CMC Hospital, Ludhiana and met the fire fighters of Municipal Corporation Ludhiana who are undergoing treatment there. These employees had sustained serious burn injuries while extinguishing fire that had broke out the premises of a yarn factory recently.
Sidhu enquire about the health recovery of the fire fighters undergoing treatment at the hospital and regretted that the fire fighters were not even getting sufficient uniforms required at the time of extinguishing fire. He termed it as a failure of the predecessor state government. He assured that all the lacking points in the dire departments would be addressed soon.
He said that Municipal Corporation had kept Rs.4 lakh for medical treatment of these injured fire department employees. If needed then he would give additional assistance of Rs.5 lakh out of his discretionary quota.
Later, he went to local Nirwana Club to attend a functin organised by IIA. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the state government's urban development plans.
