Punjab Hockey League for Girls begins

Ludhiana, September 8 – Punjab Sports Department has started Punjab Hockey League for Girls Under – 15 and above at Prithipal Singh Memorial Hockey Stadium Punjab Agriculture University here today.

According to Kartar Singh Sehamby, District Sports Officer, Ludhiana, this League will be conducted on weekend days and final of the League shall be played on September 30 at the same place.

Host Ludhiana and Barnala played a tie match as it ended 1-1 draw in Under – 15 event. Both teams displayed good stick work and attacked and counters but Ripan of  Barnala and Akwinder of Ludhiana hardy  succeeded to convert into goals from their sides and played 1-1 draw.

The main aim of the League is to boost up girls to participate in sports and games.
