PUNJAB & HARYANA HIGH COURT CONDOLES THE DEMISE OF FORMER CHIEF JUSTICE DEBI SINGH TEWATIA

CHANDIGARH, DECEMBER 18, 2017: The Punjab and Haryana High Court today convened a Full Court Reference to condole the sad demise of Mr.Justice Debi Singh Tewatia, former Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court and Calcutta High Court. All the judges of High Court took part in this full court reference.

While sharing the grief with the family of late Mr.Justice Debi Singh Tewatia, the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Mr.Justice Shiavax Jal Vazifdar said that Mr.Tewatia was known for his high professional caliber. He described the sad demise of Mr.Tewatia as a huge loss to the legal fraternity as he was a great source of inspiration for the young professionals of the legal field.

The other dignitaries, who paid tributes to the departed soul included Mr. Chetan Mittal, Assistant Solicitor General of India, Mrs. Manjri Nehru Kaul, Additional Advocate General, Punjab, Mr. Baldev Raj Mahajan, Advocate General, Haryana, Mr. Vijendar Singh Ahlawat, Chairman, Bar Council Of Punjab & Haryana, Chandigarh, and Mr. Ravinder Singh Randhawa, Secretary, Punjab & Haryana, Bar Association, Chandigarh.

The retired judges of Punjab and Haryana High Court, family members of Mr. Justice Debi Singh Tewatia and members of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana and Bar Association of High Court were also present in condolence meeting.
