PUNJAB GROUND WATER AUTHORITY SOON

Ludhiana, October 26, 2018: CICU arranged a meeting with Suresh Kumar, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister of Punjab to discussed the issues being facing by the Industrialists at their office in Chandigarh.
Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, CICU highlighted the issue of Ground Water. He further said that Industry is facing a lot of inconvenience due to lack of clarity from Govt. It is requested to expedite the formation of authority.
He also said that during the visit of Capt.Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister of Punjab announced sanction of Rs.32 Crores for improvement of Infrastructure of Focal point, Ludhiana, but neither PSIEC nor MCL is taking responsibility of getting the funds from government and executing the project.
Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, CICU emphasized that VAT refund amounting to several crore are still pending with the department even after the VAT system has been abolished.
He also said that despite repeated reminders and requests by businessmen, but no action has been taken, if nothing is done at the earliest, the situation will worsen and our industry will pushed be towards further crisis because industrialist are paying interest on bank limits.
On one hand Government of Punjab has come up with new industrial policies to attract Investment for new and existing Industry, on the other hand existing industry is not getting VAT Refund as committed by the Govt.
Suresh Kumar, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister of Punjab assured that reimbursement of 32 crore for improvement of Infrastructure of Focal point, Ludhiana will be released soon.

Sh Suresh Kumar also assured that Ground Water Authority has been formed by Punjab Govt and it will be announced very soon. He also discussed its Drafts and ensured that the Policy will be made in keeping the interest of the Punjab Industry.
