PUNJAB Govt Directions-Get leaves sanctioned and approved well in advance

Chandigarh, October 7, 2014: The Punjab government has issued directions to all officers/officials to get the earned leave and other leaves sanctioned and approved well in advance before proceeding on leave.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the General Administration Department said that it has been noticed that most of the employees forward their application for availing the earned leave just two days prior to proceeding on leave.  The spokesperson said that according to instruction earned leave has to be applied at least fifteen days in advance. Now the employees have been directed to send their request for earned leave 15 days prior to the date of proceeding on leave. Any employees who proceeds on leave without getting the application approved in advance would have to face the disciplinary action.
The spokesman said that the officers/ officials have been directed to desist from sending leave application from home or informing of leave on telephone and said that all employees ordinarily should get their leave sanctioned before proceeding on it.  
The employees have also been instructed to mention his father’s name, present posting and mobile number on every kind of application they send to the controlling branch, failing which their application would not be considered.
