Ferozepur, October 8, 2016: V P Singh Badnore, Governor, Punjab today paid his maiden visit to this border area and paid obeisance to martyrs Bhagat Singh Rajguru and Sukhdev at Martyrs memorial at Hussainiwala.
The governor also met the BSF jawans posted at the Indo-Pak Joint Check Post and boosted their morale. The governor said that it was his long pending desire to come to this sacred place and to pay obeisance to the martyrs who made prime sacrifices for their mother nation. He said that due to sacrifices made by these martyrs, we are able to rejoice the fresh air of freedom.
Later, the governor also met Sher Singh Ghubaya, MP, Ferozepur and Sukhpal Singh Nannu, former MLA and President of Kisan Morcha wing of BJP.
The governor also interacted with the Sarpanch and member of panchayats of various border villages and listened to their grievances.
