PUNJAB Government Pensioners protest to register their demands

Members of Punjab Pensioners Association stage protest in support of their demands at Ferozepur.

Ferozepur, July 15, 2013: On its monthly meeting, the members of Punjab Pensioners Association staged protest to register their demands under the leadership of O. P. Gaba, President.

Speaking on this occasion, Mohinder Singh General Secretary said, “The government is not paying a serious attention towards the demands of pensioners and they have been compelled to resort to agitation”.

 O. P. Gaba, Mohinder Singh, Ajmer Singh, Ajit Sodhi and others showing their resentment on the attitude of the Punjab Government said, “The demands of the pensions include, the revision of pensions on and after January 1, 2006 on the pattern of national level, merger of 50 DA installment in basic pay, 25 per cent increase in existing allowances as per the recommendations of the Pay Commissioner, fixed monthly medical allowance of Rs.1000 and immediate release of 8 per cent increase in DA installment”.

They further said, “There is a great resentment among 3 lakh pensioners against the Punjab Government wrong and dictatorial policies”.
