PUNJAB GOVERNMENT TO ORGANIZE JOB FAIRS AT 40 PLACES ACROSS THE STATE UNDER GHAR GHAR ROZGAR YOJANA: CHANNI

TECHNICAL EDUCATION MINISTER REVIEWS ARRANGEMENTS FOR THIRD ROUND OF JOB FAIRS Chandigarh, November 1, 2018: The Punjab Government would organize third round of Job Fairs across the state under Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojana. The Punjab Technical Education & Employment Generation Minister, Mr.Charanjit Singh Channi disclosed this here today at Technical Education Department after presiding over a meeting to review the arrangements for the third round of Job Fairs. He said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government would offer 82000 job opportunities in the privates sector to the Youth of Punjab during these fairs. The Minister said that this year jobs fairs to be held from November 12 to November 22 at 40 places across the state. He said that the Department of Employment Generation and Technical Education are jointly working to facilitate youth for these fairs. During the meeting the Minister directed both the departments to launch a massive awareness campaign to bring skilled youth to the Job Fairs and guide them getting proper jobs as per their skill. He also asked the Employment Generation and Training department to launch a 24X7 job helpline for this purpose. During the meeting the officers briefed that nearly 2.25 lakh youth have been already registered for availing suitable job opportunities in government, public and private sectors on the job portal operated by the Employment Generation Department. Others prominent present in the meeting included Mr. DK Tewari Secretary Technical Education, Mr. Rahul Tewari Commissioner-cum-Director Employment Generation and Training, Mr. Parveen Thind Director Technical Education, Mr. Mohanbir Singh Sidhu Additional Director Technical Education, Mrs. Daljeet kaur Additional Director Technical Education and other senior officers of the Technical Education and Employment Generation Department.
