Ferozepur, August 6, 2019: To make world class health services accessible to all needy, the state government is set to launch AB- Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna on August 20 in the state.

Presiding over a meeting to review the preparedness to launch the new scheme successfully in the state, the deputy commissioner Chander Gaind said that this pro-people scheme will prove a boon for the people, especially for the weaker sections of the society as 80 percent of the population is expected to be covered under the scheme.

Divulging further, Gaind said that the beneficiaries can avail treatment in the impanelled private hospitals up to Rs. 5 Lakhs as seven hospitals of Ferozepur district are being impanelled under the scheme and three of them have been successfully registered and the empanelment of the rest four hospitals is under process.

The deputy commissioner asked the officials to install the banners and flex with the details of the scheme at public places besides launching the scheme as massive level in the Ferozepur district.

Gaind said that each hospital has to appoint an Arogya Mitra to assist the applicants and beneficiaries and all hospitals must reveal the list of their Arogya Mitra along with their mobile numbers in their hospitals by banners. He said that any person can get himself registered under the scheme by paying a fee of Rs.30 and a golden card will be issued to the enrolled beneficiaries.

Applicants need to have their Aadhar card details with themselves so that their eligibility can be checked on the portal, said Gaind adding that he said the scheme will broadly cover the beneficiaries of Blue cardholders of Aata-Dal Scheme, construction workers, Farmers having J-Form and small traders.

On spot registration facility is also available during treatment if one is failed to get himself enrolled before the treatment and this enrolment will be done by the Arogya Mitra at the hospital, added Gaind.

On the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Ranjit Singh, SDM Amit Gupta and others were present.
