Ludhiana, April 7, 2015: Senior Congress leader and former DCC president Pawan Dewan today said that the Punjab government had failed the sportspersons in the state. He said, the sports had suffered under this government as it did not have any money even to run day to day affairs.
Speaking at an annual sports meet organised by the Diamond Youth Welfare Club in Malikpur near here today, Dewan said, with the decline in sports activity the youth had been trapped in the drug addiction. He said, with the result the Punjabi youth were losing the physical fitness so much so, they were find it difficult to get jobs in the army.
He congratulated the youth club for organising and promoting sports and involving youth in sports activities.
Others present on the occasion included club president Baljinder Singh Malakpur, Ex- Sarpanch Nahar Singh, G.S. Mand, Ankit Bansal, Baljit Singh Hora.
