Punjab Food and Civil Supplies Department to recruit 461 inspectors

Chandigarh, November 3, 2014: The Punjab government today re-initiated major recruitment drive in Food and Civil Supplies department Punjab as it has completed all the required formalities to recruit 461 food and Supplies inspectors in the department.       

According to D.S.Grewal, Secretary Food and Civil Supplies Department, the Punjab government has already recruited 1289 Inspectors in 2010 and after that the department continued updating the appointment process in the department. Adding further Mr. Grewal said that the department would re-conduct the second stage written test for the 461 inspectors on December 7.

The Secretary also said that the High Court had set-aside the written test conducted earlier and had directed the department to make amendments accordingly in the second stage of the written test.

He also said that the government has lowered the pass percentage for the SC/ST from 35% to 30%. He also said that the government has ensured complete transparency and fairness in the procedure of appointments which would be based on merit.
