Punjab to fill 134 posts in general midwifery schools

 Chandigarh, August 29, 2012: The Punjab Government has given nod to create and fill 134 posts of Principal, Vice Principal, Tutor, Additional Tutor (Intern) in new General Midwifery (GNM) Schools in the state. Besides this, the approval of filling 124 contractual posts has also been given.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of Health and Family Welfare Department said that in accordance with the decision taken in the Cabinet's previous meeting, 6 posts of Principal, 7 posts of Vice Principal, 100 posts of Tutors (50 posts of first year, 30 posts of second year and 20 post of third year), 21 posts of Additional Tutors (Intern) would be created and filled in GNM schools. He further said that 19 posts of warden/Lady House Keeper, 7 Stenographer, 7 Accountant, 7 Typists, 7 Laboratory Assistant, 7 Librarian, 7 Drivers, 14 Chaukidars, 21 Group D, Photostat Machine Operator, 14 Safai Sewak and 14 posts of Helpers for Wardens would also be filled of contractual basis in Nursing Schools. He said that these posts would be filled by the respective institutions taken into consideration the finances available under user charges/fee collection.

He said that these posts have been taken out of the purview of Subordinate Services Selection Board, Punjab. He said that the Directorate, Health Services has been authorized to fill these posts as per the rules and criteria of Indian Nursing Council, subject to the condition that there must not be separate marks for interview to fill these posts.
