Jalandhar, November 26, 2012:Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini has said the Punjab police would investigate as to how Sukhdev Singh Namdhari allegedly involved in the Ponty Chadha murder case got license issued for his revolver from Mohali.

Interacting with the media persons here today, he told that the police would investigated as to on what grounds an outsider from Punjab was issued the licence.

To another question, he told that all extra security guards had been withdrawn from officers and politicians across the state.   

Still, to another question, he categorically told that there was no possibility of revival of terrorism in Punjab. He said peace had been restored in Punjab after great sacrifices made by Punjab police personnel, adding still, Punjab police was vigilant.

Asked about deaths taking place in the road accidents in Punjab, he told that the road accidents were taking place mainly because of the drivers’ negligence and intoxication.

Earlier, he inaugurated the Rs. 93.94 lakh new building of Jalandhar Sadar Police Station at Jamsher. He also launched the facility of online payment of traffic challans/online appointment for foreign nationals regarding registration work and also introduced a revitalised beat system in two police stations of Jalandhar Police Commissionerate.
The DGP also launched the online traffic challan payment system on the traffic web-portal of Jalandhar police (www.jalandhartrafficpolice.com) and the online system of appointments for foreign nationals.
