Punjab Cotton Factories And Ginners Association Calls On Agriculture Minister

Chandigarh, February 23, 2016: A deputation of the Punjab Cotton Factories & Ginner’s Association headed by its President MrBhagwan Bansal called on the Punjab Agriculture Minister, Jathedar Tota Singh here today in favour of their demands pertaining to bring reduction in market fee and bring it at par with the neighboring states to support the cotton Ginning Industry units presently facing great finical crises in the state. Likewise they also demanded to reduce Rural Development fund (RDF) on cotton.
Giving a sympatric hearing to the demands of the association the Minister assured them that their all genuine demands would be considered on priority.
Association also expressed their fear that due to higher market fees & RDF in the state, the cotton growers would prefer to sell their produce in the neighboring states. They also demanded the due representation to the Cotton Ginning Industry in the board of Directors of the Punjab Mandi Board.
