Punjab Constitutes Committee Constituted To Identify And Develop 200 Smart Villages

Chandigarh, May 6, 2016: Punjab Government has constituted a committee to identify and develop 200 smart villages on priority.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the Rural Development and Panchayats Department said that Secretary of Rural Development and Panchayats will be the chairman of the four members committee. Comprising of Special Secretary Planning, Special Secretary Finance and Director Rural Development and Panchayats department.
He further said that the committee would establish a foolproof procedure to select the villages before the next meeting which is scheduled for May 18th, 2016. These empanelled villages will be equipped with ultra modern facilities like 4G connectivity, solar street lights, sewa kendras, sewerage and drainage facilities, bank branches and model schools etc.
