Chandigarh, November 11, 2013: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today expressed profound
grief and sorrow over the sad demise of World renowned Classical Kirtani, Bhai Amrik Singh Zakhmi, who passed away due to brain hemorrhage on Sunday evening.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister said that Bhai Amrik Singh Zakhmi kept his unique style and tradition of classical Gurbani kirtan alive till his last breath. He said that he was a pious soul committed to the service of Sikh Panth and in his death a void had been created in the Sikh religious fraternity which was difficult to be filled.
Badal shared his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved family and prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give courage to bear them this irreparable loss.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Revenue, Information & Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia also condoled the sad demise of Bhai Amrik Singh Zakhmi.
