Punjab CM announces to start campaign for employment to one and all
Talwandi Sabo (Bathinda), December 4, 2014: In a bid to root out unemployment from state, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today called upon the state administration to work proactively to ensure employment for one and all with an objective to enable each one to earn respectable livelihood in the state.
Addressing people during various Sangat Darshan programs held in the villages of Talwandi Sabo assembly segment, the Chief Minister said that the basic aim was to ensure economic independence for every individual.  He said that the government’s program to generate more employment opportunities would make the initiative a success. To attain the set target, the state government has taken initiatives to put an end to unemployment as well as impart skill development through multi pronged program. Youths were being imparted training in skill development at different centres across state so as to enable them to face challenges in today’s age of emerging technologies and innovations.
Laying emphasis on ushering in better transparency, he said that the grants and other money received by the village panchayats should be displayed in public domain on boards installed in panchayat ghar or any other public place. He added that the information about blue card holders must be publically put up on the boards outside their dwelling units to have fair knowledge about the credentials of the beneficiaries. The Chief Minister said that this would not only ensure transparency in the day-to-day life but would also weed out bogus beneficiaries.
The CM directed officials to conduct a detailed and fair survey of blue card holders, pensioners, toilets and kucha houses within a month. He asked the officials to ensure that every person, who fulfils eligibility criteria, was issued blue card and the non-deserving people do not get any such benefit. He directed the officials to adopt comprehensive strategy for collecting this data and any kind of lackadaisical attitude in tabulating this data would be dealt severely.
The Chief Minister laid special emphasis on providing cemented drains, construction of toilets, replacing kucha houses with permanent ones, providing dharamshalas etc for the Dalit brethren within given time frame. He announced grants worth crores for the various works to be executed for the Dalit brethren in different villages. He also asked the villagers to keep an eagle’s eye on the developmental works being conducted in villages so that the works are completed expeditiously and efficiently.
Talking about the prime position Sangat Darshan occupies in a healthy democratic set up, the Chief Minister said that its aim was to reach people at their door step, listen to their grievances and provide them on the spot solution thereby mitigating their woes.
