Punjab Bags Overall Trophy Of 34th National Rowing Championship Held At Hyderabad

Chandigarh, February 1, 2016: Another feather was added to the crown of Punjab when the state bagged overall trophy in the 34thNational Rowing Championship held at Hyderabad from January 25 to 31. Punjab has won two gold, two silver and one bronze medals in 500 mtr and 2000 mtr Rowing Championships.

                Disclosing this here today the President of Punjab Rowing Association, Mr. Adaish Pratap Singh said that on the whole performance of the Punjab rowers was superb. A gold medal was won by Navneet Kaur in Women’s Single Scull Final and another Gold Medal was one by Harpreet Kaur and Navneet Kaur in Women’s Double Scull Final.. A Silver Medal was won by Gurmeet Singh and Ranjeet Singh in Light Weight Men’s Double Scull Final Championship. Another Silver Medal was won by Mandeep Kaur, Monika, Beant Kaur and Avantika in Women’s Four Final. In under 21 Men’s’ Double Scull Final, Kulwant Singh and Sukhvinder Singh won Bronze Medal.

                According to the Secretary of the Punjab Rowing Association, Mr. Jaspreet Singh Sidhu, the winners would be honoured in a function organized by the Association at Lake Club on February 2, 2016.
