PUNJAB appoints administrators for 75 municipal councils/panchayats

Chandigarh, July 18, 2013: The Punjab government has issued a notification to appoint Administrators for 75 Municipal Councils/Panchayats, which had completed their term.

A spokesman of the Punjab government today said that the Administrators would look after the work of Municipal Councils/Panchayats till the new President to be elected after elections. He said that there were 75 Municipal Councils/Panchayats, whose tenure would be completed between July 16 and July 31. He also made it clear that SDMs have been appointed as Administrators of 73 Municipal Councils/Panchayats besides appointing ADC Development Ferozepur as Administrator of Guru Harsahai Municipal Council and ADC Development Fazilka as Administrator of Fazilka Municipal Council.
