Ludhiana, November 30, 2019: Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) - Punjab Unaided Technical Institutions Association (PUTIA) and Polytechnic Association highly appreciates the intervention of Chief Minister Punjab in the case of Kashmiri students. They assured CM Punjab that all Unaided Colleges are with him and would do their best for Kashmiri as well as students from other parts of the country. But at the same time Dr Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA urged Chief Minister, Punjab to issue directions to MRS-PTU, Bathinda, IKG-PTU, Jalandhar, Punjab State Board of Technical Education and other Govt. affiliating Universities that they should not force Colleges to pay immediately or Post Dated Cheque for examinations fees till the Govt. disburse pending 1200cr of Post Matric Scholarship which is due since last 2-3 years. Dr Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, President, PUTIA also urged CM Punjab to issue directions to the concerned officials of the universities to clear the eligibility of the students whose eligibilities are pending due to the non-submission of documents because of Curfew in Kashmir. S Rajinder Singh Dhanoa, Poly Association said that Associations are always ready to support Govt. but at the same time Board never thinks of welfare of the students. Board shifted Examination Centers of around 70 Polytechnic Colleges affecting 20,000 students. On the other hand, S. Nirmal Singh, B.Ed Federation, said that Punjabi university Patiala and other affiliated universities are charging fine from colleges for the late submission of documents and fees by the Colleges which are highly condemnable. Meanwhile, Mr. S.S. Chattha, President, Punjab Unaided Degree Colleges Association (PUDCA) said that there is a huge gap between fees structure fixed for Unaided Colleges by the Govt. and in actual disbursed amount. Chattha urged Govt that such issues are pending since 2-3 years which should be solved at the earliest.
