PU VC released Annual Report 2015-16

Chandigarh, June 21, 2017: Prof.Arun Kumar Grover, Vice Chancellor (VC), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh released the Annual Report 2015-16. While addressing the press conference, he informed that lot of effort has gone in the making of the Annual Report which carries all information related to various courses, colleges, achievements of faculty/students, reports of departments etc.
The VC informed that in the meeting of the Academic Council held today, Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) have been accepted and approved for implementation from the current year. The faculty from the PU Campus and Colleges agreed to try CBCS and choices will be decided on the basis of facilities available, he added.
The VC, on the issue of higher grant to be released from UGC and Punjab Government to PU, informed that it is a positive beginning and at the outset, PU’s priorities will be to fill four prominent positions of Chief of Security, Fire Officer, Deputy Registrar and Medical Officer. PU would also advertise to regularise posts of temporary teachers, he added. Also, the need of the hour is to meet the statutory requirements for Associate Professors and Professors in reserve category. He further informed that PU will pursue to have MoU with Punjab Government for the stability of Constituent Colleges and to work for proper building of Regional Centre, Muktsar.
The VC said that it is a moment of pride that the Centre has shown big confidence in the functioning of PU. The challenges accruing from this can be handled with pro-active work by PU, he added.
