Chandigarh, February 8, 2018: Amandeep Kaur, research scholar at Dr.SSBUICET, PU, Chandigarh has been selected for Shastri Research Student Fellowship (SRSF), 2017-18. She is pursuing her Ph.D. under the guidance of Prof.Sushil Kumar Kansal, an eminent environmental engineer of international repute. His group is working on the water pollution abatement using heterogeneous photocatalysis, adsorption and fluorescence sensing techniques.
This is a prestigious fellowship awarded by Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute.
This year number of applications was huge and the competition was stiff. However, only nine doctoral candidates have been selected all across the country. She will be visiting University of Waterloo, Canada from February to August, 2018 to pursue
research on the treatment of pharmaceutical wastewater using heterogeneous photocatalysis. She has been an outstanding scholar and published several papers in renowned peer reviewed journals.
