Chandigarh, December 14, 2015: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh would organise the 8th Chrysanthemum Exhibition at the Prof. R.C. Paul Rose Garden, PU campus from December 15 to 20, 2015.
The Exhibition would be organized by the Horticulture Division of PU Construction Office as a matter of tradition, to re-experience and to relive the heralding of the coming of the spring season, which is a season of hope, activity and a life full with the spirit of zeal.
PU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Arun Kumar Grover would inaugurate the exhibition on December 15 at 3:00 p.m. PU Dean University Instructions Prof. A.K. Bhandari would preside over the function & PU Registrar Col. G.S. Chadha (Retd.) would be the guest of Honour.
Divisional Engineer (H) P.U. Construction Office, Mr Anil Thakur informed that 196 varieties of Chrysanthemum would be at display alongwith 2700 plants. 16 new varieties of Chrysanthemum have been added this year. 25 different flower arrangements would also be at display. Such exhibitions have been organized regularly by the Horticulture Division in the past and have been huge crowd pullers. Not only these exhibitions are an opportunity to display the best products of Horticulture Division but also give a message for clean & green environment.
On this occasion, PU VC would also flag off two new E-Rickshaw Dumper Placers procured by the Horticulture Division which will an economical and eco-friendly mean for disposal of waste and one more step by the PU towards the aim of achieving ‘Swachh Bharat’. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
