PU Faculty on Editorial Board of International Journal

Chandigarh, April 2, 2019: Forensic Science International: Synergy, journal of Elsevier press has offered Dr.Vishal Sharma, Institute of Forensic Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh a role in Editorial board as an ambassador for Indian research in Forensic Science. He is the only Indian on editorial board of the journal.
The journal highlights emerging disciplines and research across the forensic spectrum, synthesizing and bridging the gap between traditional forensic subjects and new, cutting-edge areas. This journal welcomes significant, insightful, and innovative original research with the aim of advancing and supporting forensic science while exceeding its expectations for excellence. The journal publishes Original research, Review articles, Case reports, Opinion pieces, Policy papers, Practitioner notes in broad range of topics in Forensic Sciences.
As a role in Editorial board, Dr. Vishal Sharma, will offer his expertise in the peer review process, help further improve the quality of the journal. Dr. Vishal Sharma is having more than 15 years of teaching experience and his is currently working on the various applications like development of inorganic nano-particles and nano phosphor in latent fingermark and lip mark detection for forensic applications, Chemometrics in forensic science, Ageing of writing inks and bloodstains, Spectroscopic applications in writing paper, Analyses of Questioned Documents, Characterization of Polymeric Materials, Ion beam interaction with different materials, Polymer nano-composites for different applications and development of various methods for the analysis of trace exhibits in forensic science.
Dr. Vishal Sharma is the author of around 60 peer-reviewed scientific papers from International Journals and six book chapters. He is also the editor of two books with publisher like Springer Nature. He has delivered Keynote, invited talk, session chair and presented his work in various national & International Conferences. He has been invited for expert lectures abroad by various prestigious societies like The American Association of Forensic Sciences and visited countries like Spain, South Africa, Canada, Thailand, and Poland. He is the recipient of DAE Young scientist research award, Promotion of University Research and Scientific Excellence (PURSE) incentive award by P.U. and Dr. P.D. Sethi National Award in November 2018.
