Chandigarh, February 10, 2018: ENACTUS SSBUICET team of Panjab University again brought laurels to the university by bagging Second Runners Up Position in “SAMADHAN”, a Social Case Study held under Aspire 2018, 5th edition of Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology’s (NSIT, Delhi) annual Social Entrepreneurship Convention being held from 10-11th February, 2018. The convention promises to fuel business acumen and entrepreneurial talent in Enactus students, conveyed Prof. Seema Kapoor, Faculty Advisor of Enactus team.
Initially an online round was held by NSIT, in which more than 100 entries were received, out of which 10 teams were selected to participate during the convention at NSIT campus, Delhi. Enactus SSBUICET team was among the top 10 finalists, as informed by Taranpreet, President of Enactus team. The team members, Nirbhay Aggarwal, Deewakar and Damanpreet participated in the final round and bagged Second Runners Up position. They were awarded certificates, trophy and various coupons. The competiton witnessed participation from various prominent colleges namely Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR), Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune, Zakir Husain Delhi College, Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (GGSIP), NSIT, to name a few.
Enactus SSBUICET team is currently working on two projects namely UNNATI and SAMBHAV. Through these entrepreneurship based projects, the team targets to uplift the underprivileged communities consisting of unemployed unskilled youth, beggars, housemaids and underprivileged women by providing them with sustainable source of income, informed Sheryl Sarna, Vice president, Enactus team.
The Enactus team acknowledges whole hearted support provided by Prof. Emanual Nahar, Dean Student Welfare, PU and other higher authorities of Panjab University. The team is also grateful to Mr. Farhan Pettiwala, President, ENACTUS India for providing a platform to students of more than 170 teams all over India to do social entrepreneurship projects for the upliftment of underprivileged communities.
