Ferozepur, June 7, 2016: The Vigilance Bureau, Ferozepur, has nabbed a lineman of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) for accepting bribe of Rs.7,000.
Disclosing this, Ranbir Singh Saini, SSP, Vigilance Bureau said that Mangat Ram son of Mohan Lal, a resident of Village Panje Ke Uthar in Guruharsahai sub-division had lodged a complaint against accused Bakhshish Singh posted at Village Panje Ke Uthar for demanding bribe. The complainant said that he approached the lineman to change the electricity supply of their motors to another feeder for which the lineman demanded the bribe of Rs .10,000 and finally the deal was settled at 7, 000.
The SSP said that a trap was laid by the Vigilance Bureau, Ferozepur range and as a consequence Rs. 7,000 were recovered from the left pocket of lineman Bakhshish Singh in the presence of two government witnesses Dr. Karamjit Singh, Medical Officer, Civil Hospital Ferozepur and Arjun Singh, SDO, PSPCL and one shadow witness Baldev Singh son of Gurmukh Singh. The SSP said that a case under sections 7,, 13 (2) 88, PC Act has been registered against the accused.
