The faculty, staff and students of the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University, met to express their enormous sense of grief, shock and heartfelt condolences on the hapless demise of our brave and honest alumna Ms Neha Shoree Monga.
Ms Neha passed B.Pharm in 2004 from UIPS and M.S. (Pharm) in 2006 from NIPER. She was a bright student of her batch who was later selected to become District Drug Officer in 2007, and later promoted as Zonal Licensing Authority, Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Punjab, in November 2013. She was a dedicated and an upright officer who laid down her life to curb drug menace in Punjab region. We salute our great student, a brave daughter, who has been so daring and steadfast even amidst the threatening designs of some of the unethical people in the trade. She will continue to serve as an inimitable role model of a fearless official and a bold young lady for many generations to come.
On behalf of faculty, staff and students the UIPS fails to find words to express the pain and sorrow felt by all at the untimely and unfortunate departure of Neha from this carnal world due to the gruesome attack at her by an unscrupulous individual.
The Institute strongly feels that the security to the drug regulator should be reinforced/ beefed up.
The brave, fearless and arduous efforts of Ms Neha in unearthing the fraudulent trade practices in selling contrabands should be suitably rewarded at the national state levels. The members stood in silence to pray to Almighty Lord to grant peace to the departed soul and provide strength to the members of the bereaved family and her two year old daughter to bear this irreparable loss.
