Prof.Harminder Pal Singh selected for Annual “Shiv Nath Rai Kohli Memorial Mid-Career Best Scientist Award” for 2018

Chandigarh, April 11, 2019: Prof.Harminder Pal Singh, Department of Environment Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh has been selected for Annual "Shiv Nath Rai Kohli Memorial Mid-Career Best Scientist Award" for the year 2018 in recognition to his research contribution in the field of Biological / Life Sciences. The result was announced today in a meeting held which was chaired by Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University in the presence of Prof. R.K. Sinha, Director, CSIO, Prof. R.K.Kohli, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Punjab, Prof. R.K.Singla, Dean Research and officiating Dean of University Instructions, Sh. Vikram Nayyar, Finance & Development Officer, Dr. Neeraj K. Singh, A.C. Joshi Library and Ms. Renuka B. Salwan, Director, Public Relations. Panjab University instituted this award in the year 2017 comprising cash prize of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees one Lac) and a plaque with citation for researchers in institutions of higher education located in Chandigarh and Punjab with the corpus set up by Prof. R.K. Kohli, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Punjab and former Dean University Instruction, Panjab University, Chandigarh in memory of his father late Sh. Shiv Nath Rai Kohli. This year, 33 applications were received and committee shortlisted candidates based on the h-index, Citation Scores (Scopus), Field Weightage Citation Impact (FWCI) and also the work done in India. BRIEFS Prof Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh met Sh Sarvjeet Singh, President CII, in his office today to explore collaboration and mutual working between Industry and Academia. During the interactions, it was agreed to have more industry events in PU.
