Amritsar, December 17, 2015: Prof R.K Mahajan of Chemistry Department of Guru Nanak Dev University has been elected as fellow for the year 2015 of National Academy of Sciences of India. He was elected keeping in view his achievements in the field of chemistry.  He was also received warm appreciation from the members of syndicate of the university during recent meeting.
Prof. Mahajan would contribute in research journals, proceedings, bi-monthly journals and other activities of the academy. Presently he is Dean, College Development Council of the University. He has supervised 23 Ph.D.  and 61 M.Sc. thesis and still guiding about 7 Ph.D. students. He has successfully accomplished several research projects funded by Department of Science and Technology, Council of Scientific Industrial Research, University Grants Commission, BRNS and BARC and still handling 3 research projects simultaneously. To his credit lies the publication of more than 149 research papers in several journals of international repute.
