Ludhiana, October 5, 2019: To recognise and reward the young artists who participated in Inter-College and Youth and Heritage Festival, general assembly was organised at Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana on Saturday.
Held at Giani Gurmukh Singh Hall, the participants were felicitated by the Principal Dr.Inderjit Kaur. To encourage the talent among students Talent Hunt Show was organised at the college, which included on stage and off-stage items. The winners of various items like Fine Arts, Home Science and Creative Writing were appreciated on stage. Along with that the winners of Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival that was held from 25th to 28th September here at Ramgarhia Girls College, were also honored on stage by the Principal.
The college participants performed excellently during the four day Youth Festival and won several first prizes in various categories namely, One Act Play, Group Shabad, Classical Vocal, Folk Song, Folk Orchestra etc. to name a few. S. Ranjodh Singh, President Ramgarhia Educational Council encouraged the students stating that the students are the future of the nation so it becomes very important to provide opportunities to the young budding talent to flourish during this phase of their life and these kind of occasions certainly bring out the best out of them. He appreciated the efforts of the Youth Festival organizing secretaries Prof.Jaspaul Kaur and Prof. Tajinder Kaur for their vigorous efforts in presenting a well organised function. He congratulated the winners of every field during both the occasions.
In her riveting address Principal Dr.Inderjit Kaur stated that the RGCians displayed a Cultural Extravaganza which was a treat to witness during both the occasions. The college is celebrating its Golden Jubilee and the glorious achievements of the students have multiplied the festivity spirit of every member of RGC institutes. She feels pride in saying that out of 64 categories our students managed to secure 48 prizes by giving healthy competition to all 1200 contestants of all 10 participating colleges. Concluding her speech she congratulated all the members of RGC family on winning the overall trophy.
Gurcharan Singh Lotey, General Secretary, Ramgarhia Educational Council, applauded the achievements of the institution and he asserted that the winners of first position to repeat the history during Inter-Zonal Youth Festival that would be held from 1st to 4th November, at Guru Nanak National College, Doraha.
