Ferozepur, November 27, 2017: A case has been registered against mother and wife of a prisoner for making a futile attempt to provide mobile in the central jail. As per information available, Paramjit Kaur and Sandip Kaur, both residents of Gurdaspur met Rajbir Singh who is lodged at central jail Ferozepur. Paramjit was the mother and Sandip was the wife of prisoner Rajbir. After their meeting, when Paramjit and Sandip were leaving, the jail staff sensing something wrong, checked the belongings of Rajbir Singh again and recovered a mobile charger (with wire and a plug).
A Samsung phone and 5 bundles beedi were also recovered from the backside of central jail following which a case under sections 52-A, Prisoners Act was registered against Rajbir Singh, Paramjit Kaur, Sandip Kaur and one other unidentified persons.
In another case, an inmate of the central jail was booked for an attempt to damage the closed circuit cameras installed in the barracks. As per information, a case has been registered against the erring prisoner Kirpal Singh in this connection. Sources said that Kirpal allegedly tried to temper the wiring of CCTV cameras following which the jail officials lodged complaint with the police. When contacted, Avtar Singh, SHO, Ferozepur City said that a case under sections 427 IPC & Prevention of damage to Public Property Act 1984 at city police station.
