Print Yatra now at Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh
Ludhiana, July 7, 2018: Print Yatra is a noble event of Offset Printers Association (OPA), it is a mission for the complete networking of 250,000 printers of India. This mission was started in the year 2010 and now during its 6th edition of Print Yatra – 2018, we have decided to visit 8 states. The 7th leg of Print Yatra is starting today from Ludhiana during this leg a distance of 846 k.m. will be covered to visit 7 cities. During this leg we will be touching Uttarankhand and Uttar Pradesh also. Speaking on the launch of 7th Leg, today at Ludhiana, Prof. Kamal Chopra said, during this phase of Print Yatra we noticed the miseries of the micro and small printers and decided to organize a special seminar during InterPrint Expo India at Chandigarh on 14, 15, 16 and 17 December where eminent experts will be invited to guide the printers. He said with this 7th leg this phase of Print Yatra shall be complete, we will start redressing the problems of printers. Mr. Amarjot Arora, Secretary, Mr. Hans Raj Chopra, Finance Secretary and Mr. Nitin Malik, Exe Member will be joining Prof. Kamal Chopra during this leg for visiting Ambala, Saharanpur, Dehradun, Haridwar, Muzzaffarnagar, Meerut, Panipat and Karnal. ‘Printing is the second biggest industry of the world, but in India awareness about this industry is lacking. Though printing press is present at almost every corner of India and the present strength of print shops in India is estimated to be 250,000, but due of unorganized sector we are lacking in networking. Through Print Yatra we are persuading the printers to form associations so that there may be proper networking. Such networking is required to understand the common problems and to educate about the facilities and schemes available with the government, for the growth of the industry.’ Prof. Chopra said, since 1989, printing has been showing a growth of over 14%. “The Indian packaging industry is expected to reach $55 billion by 2019, to become the sixth largest market in the world, according to the study by ICD Research. There is need to spread the message and to form a strong national-level networking, which may also be necessary to get hold of the outsourced printing and packaging from overseas,”. Through Print Yatra, we are trying to guide the printers about latest machines and technologies and, at the same time, the formulae for the cost reductions.
