Principal Secretary resolves industrial issues after meeting with CICU delegation

Ludhiana, August 7, 2014: A CICU Delegation comprising of Avtar Singh, President, Upkar Singh Ahuja, General Secretary and Sanjay Bhatia, Joint Secretary called on D.P.Reddy Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Punjab.  This meeting was attended by Raminder Singh, Secretary and Director of Industries Punjab and Yashvir Mahajan, Managing Director, Punjab Small Industries & Export Corporation Ltd.

Avtar Singh, President CICU submitted Memorandum to D.P.Reddy regarding Establishment of New Focal Point Near Ludhiana, Providing Common Exhibition Centre for Ludhiana Industries, Technology Up gradation, Brand Equity Fund for Cluster Development, Establishment of Skill Development Board Punjab, Skill Development Scheme to be Popularized, Setting up Model Centers for Excellence of Skill Development at CICU Complex, Setting up New CETP for electroplating Industry, Allotment of Land Acquired & Unused Unutilised Plots of PSIEC for Industrial Use, , Grant of Permission for Execution of Conveyance Deed of Allotted Plots, Transfer Fee of Commercial & Residential plots should be made at par with PUDA/GLADA rates, Development of un allotted plots of PSIEC for allocation to  industrial units and providing support for participation in International Exhibition

D.P. Reddy, after patience hearing announced relief for the Industries as under:

?  Taking into consideration the fact apprised by the Delegation that many beneficiaries who were allotted plots by PSIEC in various Phases of Focal Point, Ludhiana could not avail the opportunity for execution of conveyance deed as per policy of the PSIEC, he as a special case granted permission to PSIEC for execution of lease deed to aforesaid beneficiaries.

?  Taking into consideration that charges of PSIEC for transfer of commercial and residential plots are extraordinary high, he formed a committee to study these charges for making them comparable with PUDA/GLADA prevailing rates.

?  He agreed that participation in International Exhibitions for exploring new areas of technology infusion/up-gradation, use of low cost automation, improving market of MSME products to enable participants to meet and conduct business with fast emerging industries which will be supported by PSIEC.

?  He also assured the delegation that he would consider the all other issues related to growth & development of industries in consultation with the concerned departmental heads.
