Prime Minister’s Matritv Vandana Yojna is highly beneficial for women  

Dharamshala: Alongwith properly implementing various welfare schemes by Himachal Government, concrete steps are constantly being taken to improve the health of women and children. In the series, effective implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Matritv Vandana Scheme is being implemented for the protection of maternity rights In Kangra district of the state. This scheme is being operated by the Women and Child Development Department.
 
District Program Officer Ranjit Singh said that under the Pradhan Mantri Matritv Vandana Yojana in Kangra district, an amount of Rs 12 crore 54 lakh 97 thousand has been disbursed to 30,447 pregnant / nursing women in 15 development blocks of the district so far. He informed that the Prime Minister's Mother Vandana Week was celebrated in the district from December 2 to December 8 in which an amount of Rs 43 lakh 30 thousand was deposited  in  the account of 732 beneficiaries. “Under this scheme special attention is given to raising well  pregnant women and infants and reducing mortality rate,” said Singh.
 
It is worth mentioning that under the Prime Minister Matritv  Vandana Yojna of the Government of India, the government provides financial assistance in three instalments ,of Rs. 5000 to the pregnant and lactating mothers on the birth of the first child.
 
District Commissioner  Kangra Rakesh Kumar Prajapati said  that effective implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Maternity Vandana Scheme is being decided for the protection of maternity rights. Under the scheme, women who are working as labourers are being given maximum attention. He informed that special attention is being paid to ensure that more and more eligible persons in the district get full benefits of various government schemes.
