Press appeal for poor kid – Suraj (C-7881179)

Suraj is currently undergoing treatment at CMC Hospital Ludhiana with patient # (C-7881179). Suraj has always been a source of immense pride to his parents and family. His effort and hard work gave them a hope that he will succeed in life and help raise the family out of poverty. He was after all their ‘Suraj’- The one who will light up their lives. His father, a farmer in UP kept trying his best to provide for his education within his meagre income in the belief that things will improve. Suraj was the doting son and loving brother to his four sisters. Fate had different plans. At the start of the year Suraj started feeling tired and kept getting fevers repeatedly. He was not keeping pace with his classmates and his studies started suffering. He tried the services of many native and locality physicians but his condition did not improve. Eventually he was diagnosed with a decrease in his blood, white cells and platelets. He has very severe aplastic anaemia. This is a fatal disease of the blood and marrow with stem cell transplantation a curative option for this fatal disease. Despite the setback the good news was that his sister was identified as a suitable donor and the search began to draw up funds. He continued to have frequent visits to hospitals and received transfusions and drugs. Unfortunately during one of the many trips his father met with a fatal accident and lost his life. It has been a very cruel turn of events to this promising boy and his family. At this young age of 14 years Suraj recognizes the burden on him. He is willing himself to get better and is super motivated to bring up his family. He maintains his cheer saying that it can’t get any worse for him. He is after all ‘Suraj’- The one who will light up lives. It is his Tauji who now supports him here in Ludhiana. Despite his own meagre income of Rs.10000 a month Tauji takes care of Suraj and also his own family of six. The hospital is trying to draw up as many funds to facilitate his transplant. He is running out of time. He will require another 4 lacs to undergo a stem cell transplant. He requires well-meaning and generous supporters in you to match his determination. This is an open appeal to all the generous citizens to come forward and kindly consider donating for the benefit of the patient.
